    Default question about new tach

I just recieved a new tach that I purchased off ebay. I noticed when I unpacked it that the needle is sitting at around 4k. Just curious if that is the norm and ok or if I should be concerned. I will not get to install it for a month or so and don't wan't to have to deal with trying to get it replaced at that late of time.

thanks in advance for the help,
    chad

If the tach is good it should zero itself when you put power to it. Take some jumper wires and temporairly put power to it but make sure you have the correct connections on the tach.
