price for 1980's -1990's 4 or 5 hp evinrude johnson

what do you guys think would be a fair reasonable price for one in decent condition thats had a full tune up, and for one that hasnt had a tune up. Here in san diego they go for about 300$-400$. Doesnt seem right; for an outboard that is about 30 years old, im thinking 200$-300$. Same goes for a suzuki or nissan.

3-400 sounds about right. once the motor passes 10 years old it really stops depreciating...value depends on condition.

The market may go up and down with the season. Those JohnnyRudes are some of the finest outboards ever made and they hold value forever.

$200-$400 depending on condition. If you want a $400 motor for $200 then you have to start putting in some time looking for them. Check Craigslist every 30min-1hr. Look for outboards at yard sales. Just search for "outboard" or "boat" in the yard sale section of Craigslist or your newspapers classified.
