    Default out board vent screw

    Iam not able to remove vent screw from lower unit . any ideas? It will not budge

    first try a 1800 watt blow dryer and concentrate the heat right on the screw and area around it... the aluminum will grow faster than the steel screw!!!

    second take a thick flat screw driver and position it on the out edge of the slot in the screw head and hit it with a hammer to drive it counter clock wise...strike as far outboard as possible... do one side of the slot then the other...

    never had that fail.. if the heat doesnt work..

    and together, you have to be able to get it out like that!!

    you could use a flat punch of about 3/16th" dia too...then replace with the Hex wrench socket head drain plug screw...

    i Had a impact hammer in my tool box worked thanks never thought of using it
