    Default motor tilt piston?40hp johnson 88'

    i have aboat that had been siting in the rain an sun for 2 years. and now aside form alot of things, the motor is real hard to lift up an then to push down. does that piston have to be replace or does it need oiling or greasing? if anyone can tell me what i can do to make it easier to lift an lower, let me know, i feel llike im gona mess up my back every time i lift the darn thing, thanks

    exodus8Those assist cylinders are sealed. You can get new ones, but they are not cheap. Might want to think about a CMC bolt on power tilt before you spend the money. Tilt Assist Cylinder URL to cabalas for CMC: Just put CMC in the search button. cabelas

    Put a cmc on my evinrude 40hp 89'. Best money I ever spent....Now if I could just get it to run right.
