I've posted before on this subject but still can't figure it out. Trim gauge not working. Gauge tests out OK when I ground the S terminal. Bought a new sender. It checks out OK on the ohm meter. The gauge still doesn't work. I tested continuity on the white/brown wire from the sender to the S terminal and it is OK. I wasn't able to test the black (second) wire coming out of the sender because I don't know where it goes. The gauge has white/brown on the S term., black on the ground term., and purple (hot) on the I term. Any help would be great. Hey Joe Reeves are you out there??
bobecke,When you replaced the sender, where did you attach the black lead?On older engines it attaches to one of the sender mounting bolts.Maybe newer ones it attaches under the motor cover. At any rate it has to be connected to a good ground.DHP
