Johnson 9.9 Seahorse water pump stop working

I was motoring back to the marina this afternoon(no wind to be found). Everything was running fine for about 2 miles, then I saw that no water was coming out of the telltale. I shut down the engine immediately and ask for someone from the club to come and tow us back.What step do I need to take tomorrow to fix this? I'm assuming I have have to change the water impeller what else do I have to check?Tx for your help

the pee hole could just be stopped up too, run a small piece of wire up in it and see if it works then. did you notice any change in the motor that would indicate overheating? stick it in a barrel and fire it up for a minute to see if it is just stopped up and if it gets too hot to touch the cylinder head.

Mikeyzx2,Yes the motor was hotter to the touch than usually and I couldn't see any water coming out with the exhaust fume.
