Johnson 35 power loss.

1982 omc 35hp. When cold, starts/idles/runs fine. Out on the lake, after 10-15 min., from idle to WOT, loses power to a point where restarted dies at throttle advance. Then will not even restart. Let sit a few hours- starts/idels/runs fine and the process starts again. Any help , thanks.

sounds like a heat related issue ( resistance goes up ) or a head gasket, check your compression cold then warm.
