    Default Installing a temp guage

I have put in a temp gauge on a 1989 Johnson 120 looper. Do I need to put something in the threaded hole it screws into or will just screwing it in be enough? it seems like there is some space between the head and the sensor.

    Thanks

The sensor needs a solid electrical ground as well as thermal contact. http://www.downloadingfiles.co.uk/te.../Outboards.pdf
