I need a wireing diagram for my ignition switch

There are many different wiring diagrams. We will need to know the model and year, and also the model number if possible.

thank you for a fast reply ,it is a 1998 johnson 150 the switch has 6 little prongs with the letters A,S,M,B,C,M

This should help. Wire colors are for Mercury but the terminals are the same.

That is a great diagram only if i had one for a johnson 150 and if there is any type of fuse that could have blown because i am getting nothing

Engine fuses are on the engine. Look near the starter solenoid.

ok thank you i will go look but i need the diagram for the igntion switch with push to choke like the one silvertip gave me but for a johnson 150 the name of the switch is pollak with 6 prongs one is in the center

It does not matter how the connectors are arranged. All of the 6 post ignition switches for BRP/OMC motors are push to choke since 1979. "C" is always choke.

I got figured out i got it to turn over again and found the blown fuse. You see i was using my boat all day yesterday until i was waiting for a big tug to pass with it in neutal then when i put it in gear it killed now it will not start thats how why i started to try to check my switch do you have any idea why? i did take out a plug and turned it over to see if it is getting fire but it does not seem to be any input would be great. You all have already helped me so much

You folks have been a great help as I restore a 1988 Javelin with Johnson 150 V-6. And I need help again.

Having to replace the iginition switch with choke.

The old wiring poles are labeled: M,B,M,A,C,S

The new switch poles are labeled: M,B,M,I,C,S

So the question becomes are A and I poles the same?

Please hurry as I am ready to rewire today.

I have a Evunrude 50573B and also am having a little trouble with wireing my new ignition switch. The diagram here looks differant to my switch. Please help. Don't want to blow up my boat.
