How to set the timing on an Evinrude Starflite 1961 75HP

Hello,

I am a new member that found this forum while looking for help with my Evinrude as mice chewed up my timing belt.

I have a new belt on the way, but I know it needs to be timed correctly once i have the belt.

Please advise and thanks in advance!

Need to know which motor you have (model number?). There were a couple of kinds that year. Does yours have the Unicharger? The Unicharger has a flywheel with round holes all around the outer diameter like windows on a flying saucer, and the distributor cap is on top, above the timing belt. The standard model has a flatter flywheel, no portholes, and the distributor hangs downward with the plug wires coming out the bottom.

The model is "Starflite", the manual also says "MODELS 50926-50927"

Yes is has the Uni-Charger.

I cannot find any information on how to time it, and would love to this weekend.
