Hello again wise ones...I'm pretty new to the boating world and this is just my second post to the forum. I haven't got a factory manual (yet) and am a little bit unfamiliar with my motor too at this early stage.Problem: engine sometimes won't idle without quitting after a short time - even when I have been running and the motor is warmed up. Engine also stalls frequently when shifting into gear. Otherwise, engine runs strong and smooth throughout the RPM range. I suspect that the idle is too low. Any other suggestions? If this is the case, what do I need to look for on this motor to adjust the idle. It's a 1992 40HP Johnson. Is there an adjustment on the carb or on the linkage on the starboard side? Sorry if this is a newbie question from a guy who should get the manual - I'll be getting one soon, but could use some advice in the meantime!Boat was given to me by my Dad because he just hasn't used it enough in recent years - maybe once a year for the last 3 or 4 years! Is a carb cleaning in order? Is there something I could spray or run through the fuel so I do not have to dissasemble the carb? Seafoam? thanks in advance,DobberHigh Springs, FL1992 Tracker deep V
