Fuel Pump Cover - 1966 Johnson Seahorse 60HP (VXL-12R)
Hi all,
Installing a new Fuel Pump kit and noticed that the pressure side nipple on the fuel pump cover was loose. After some inspection I noticed it came off and there are no threads and yes perfectly smooth. It doesn't appear broken, but I was wondering if it was a standard practice to have these press fitted or something similar? My nipple is brass and faces 90 degrees. The face plate looks like cast aluminum. Any thoughts on how to repair this?

Thanks, I was actually thinking of that or even threading the face plate since it has plenty of metal and seeing if I could find the same type of fitting that is threaded. At least that way it could be replaced, but I guess I will see if I can even find that size in a fitting first.
