    Default Fuel/oil mixture 1954 5.5 h.p. johnson

    Hi i own an old johnson 5.5 h.p. and was wondering what the oil/fuel mix was for it. I have been told only go 24:1 but have been told to go all the way to 50:1. I really dont want to wreck the motor so if anyone can help that would be great

    24:1. You can go richer - some folks run theirs 16:1, but do NOT go leaner...

    It was originally designed to run 16:1. I personally run 24:1, but do as you feel is right.
