Fuel Filter 1959 18HP Johnson

Hello, Im looking for a fuel filter for my 1959 18HP Johnson Seahorse FDL-13. Iv done a search on here, but came up blank, so I thought I would start a new thread. Is there anywhere on the net where I can pick up one of these? Im not even sure what this (original) one is made of? Would it be possible to just clean it instead?

It never had one other than, potentially, a small screen where the fuel goes into the fuel pump.

If you have an in line filter it was an automotive one added later.

I think I have confused both of us.

Im just wondering if there is anywhere where I can buy a fuel filter for my motor. Or as an alternative, I am wondering if cleaning the filter will work.

Without knowing what kind you have, I can't say if you can clean it.

Here's a picture of what my fuel filter looks like. Im sure it is the original one which tells me it has never been replaced. The part number for the filter is302062.

Was it in the float bowl?

It was in the glass filter bowl. Yes clean with carb cleaner and reinstall. If your is crumbly post an and wtb on http://www.aomci.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/Y...ard=Webvertize and someone may have one.
