Forgot a Part on 48hp Johnson water pump replacement.

Hey stupid me forgot to put back a gromit back when i changed my waterpump on my 1990 48hp Johnson. I'm 99.9% sure it goes on the shift rod inside the lower unit housing. I know i put the gromit back on ,at the shift rod on top underneath the carbs and don't remember putting it back on on the lower part of shift rod inside housing.

Do i need to take it all back apart and put the grommit on the bottom?

Btw i noticed it when i was putting my tools up in the toolbox. LOL

Well, there is a reason that it should be there so if it was me I would be going into teardown mode again and put it back in place.

yep went faster today.....LOL on and off in about a hour i guess....hope it pumps water.
