Evinrude 15922 water pump issue

Evening yall,I have gone thru this motor this past winter and she is sweet,however I replaced the impeller recently and fished last thursday and I AM NOT GETTING WATER flow,I could tell it was getting hot and shut it down.I have pulled and checked EVERYTHING that I had replaced,I can get flow thru the motor with a hose when the foot is off,rotation is CLOCKWISE.I also replaced the impeller on my 35 Javilin and man it really will put the water out!
Help....any suggestions?...for I am stumped.

How is the water discharge out of the exhaust port? Is it good at an idle and slows down with higher RPM?

Daviet,I appear to be getting no water at any speed to little,I have it in a water tank up to the discharge outlet,The head heats up WAY too fast.Both inlet passages are clear too.

When you installed the lower unit you did get the water tube in the pump properly,correct?
A couple of things you could try.
Remove the lower unit and submerge it in water and use a drill to spin the drive shaft and see if the pump is working.
I think there is a core plug on the top of the head that seals the water passage, could remove it and see if you get water through the block, make sure you can get another core plug first.

Apparently it is possible that the impeller plate has a up and a down side,sitting here in my office I have the old one and traced the outline then turned it over and the inlet slots do off-set enough to block or at least partly block the draw to the pump.Gonna pull it back down and check that.Is that possible?

It's been a long time since I have had one of those apart, but it could be possiable to install the plate upside down.
