    Default Convert from Tiller to Control Box--Elec Start 6 HP Johnson

    I am wanting to convert an existing electric start motor so I can control shifting and throttle from an existing control box on my sail boat. First mechanic I talked with said, "the engine is too small, needs to be at least a 9.5 HP. I hope this is not the case.

    Help!

    What year is your 6hp Johnson?
