99 Evinrude 4-Stroke EFI

Got a chance to pick up a leftover 1999 Evinrude 4-stroke EFI that is new in box, never started, never in water for $3500.00.. All I am familiar with (personal experience) in the 4-stroke world is Honda, and I like them. But at this price, doesn't seem like a bad deal. I am looking for anyone who has any experience with this model, or suggestions. No warranty is available... Thanks

It certainly depends on the Hp of the engine you're looking at. The evinrude you're considering was made by suzuki. I've have a 2000 suzuki 70hp and it's the quietest smoothest engine I've ever owned or operated. Good power and also cheap to operate. If the evinrude is a 60-70hp it's probably not a bad deal and you'll be happy with it.
