    Default 9.5 evinrude sportwin 1969 I think

    I just got a 9.5 evinrude sportwin and I think its from 1969 And I going but it only stays running for about two seconds It doesn't have the choke and I was wondering if they needed a throttle cable

    Well, I would choke it and see what happens.

    The throttle is controlled by the tiller handle.
