78 Johnson 150 Seahorse fuel pump pressure

Does anyone know how much pressure the fuel pumps produce at wot on a 78 Johnson 150? How about idle also, I think its around 3 psi but not sure. Please help!! Could anyone tell me why someone could not by-pass the manual fuel pumps altogether, by replacing them with a low pressure in line electric fuel pump? They make several that produce anywhere from 4 to 7 psi which sould be perfect for this application. What could be the potential problems?

Very bad idea from a safety standpoint. How do you automatically shut it down if a fuel line breaks or the engine stops and starts venting fuel? All kinds of very bad scenarios.
