    Default '76 Johnson 25hp fuel re-circulating hose?

Where does the small hose coming from the upper by-pass cover go to?
There isn't any place (that I can find) to connect the other end and my parts diagrahm is vague.

    Upper crank bearing?
Signature- If you have fuel and spark- Have you checked compression?

The upper crank bearing has a larger diameter nipple/hose and that hose leads down to the lower part of the intake manifold. The one that comes out of the upper by-pass cover is quite small, less than 1/8 I.D and it heads toward the carb or the intake manifold and I don't see a nipple anywhere in that area. I wonder if it's OK to let that little hose dangle?

The parts breakdown calls it a " hose manifold to cover".
