A model # beginning with E75 would be an evinrude after 1980 but the rest doesn't check out.......can't match it to anything

If asked to guess I'd say you misread the number and its E75ELCTE for an electric start, long shaft, 1983 model

1983 had single thin black and red stripes. It wasn't made in 1986, not sure about '84 and '85.

The 1977 Stinger had orange stripes.

1978 had the grey color scheme in your picture.

Can't find my '79 catalog.

1980 had a black checkerboard pattern.

Since they usually at least made subtle color changes, it's a 1978.
