OK I've looked all over this motor and can't find a freeze plug anywhere. No model plates either. Here are some pics. Can anyone out there tell me what year this motor is??

Is it oil injected? I would say mid 80s by looking at it.

nope, not oil injected. I'd really like to know exactly what year it is since it makes it easier to search for parts if I need them.

Here's a picture of the freeze plug on a 77 75hp 3cyl It does have the model and serial on it

I guess the motor does not have a freeze plug because it doesn't look anything like that. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can investigate what year this motor is??

pictures that small are useless...

you want someone to try and gfigure what year it might be from lookign at it. but those answers comes from close up and little details possibly...but they wont come from such small pictures.
I have a 1988 70 evinrude, and a lot looks similar, to yours but a lot looks similar to the 77 as well....the changes are subtle sometimes.


the freeze out plug on my 1988 version is to the right of where the motor lift is bolted to the head, and is in the block . the last two numbers are 88...the year of my motor
