I have a 61 evinrude starflite III 75 hp. While running, fuel is pretty much pouring out around the top of the lower unit. It appears to be running down inside of the casing btween the motor and lower unit. None of the fuel lines seem to leaking on the motor. I was told these engines bypass fuel, is there a hose that runs thru this caseing to some sort of weep hole that may be off? Any info would be appreciated. Also does anyone no where I might find a water pump impeller and is this fairly simple to change out. thank's dacsacjac

Last thing first ,Impaller 75hp 1960-65 Sierra #18-3005 ( check Napa ) or OE #377992 ??.The fuel system shuld NOT leak anywere .Follow the fuel-line from tank to carburators, it is an 61 mod engine ,why not replace those hoses .You may also check the carburators ,maybe time to rebuild them .Carb kit is available ,also replace and/or adjust the float , so you get the right fuel level in the carb.
1# Disconnect cabels to gear (2 cabels on port side of engine )2# Remove " window" from lower unit ( blue dots )3# Remove "inner window" lower unit (gren dots )Disconnect shift rod ( manuel gear )Release shiftcable ,slide the cable inside when removing lowerunit ( Electric gear )4# Remove 8 bolts ( red dots , 4 left side +4 right side )5# Lower the lowerunit carefully , watch the cable .6# Remove 4 bolts on the waterpump , take out impaller .7# clean the house and insert new impaller ( do a search in the forum howto..)8# All above in reverse .. This is my engine ,and my way to do it
