Default 50 HP Johnson timing off 180 degrees

I am working on a 1995 50 HP 3 cylinder Johnson outboard. Initially the motor was not firing on the 3rd cylinder. The motor would get up on step and drop rpm and then it would kick in again. Very sporatic. There is good compression in all 3 cylinders. All 3 ignition coils are working. I changed out the timer base. Some tests I did following a Clymer manual pointed to the timer base being the culprit. The base was partially melted in one spot. The erratic sparking on the 3rd cylinder still occured. I now have purchased a power pack. All three cylinders have good spark, but now #1 cylinder is out of time 180 degrees. I checked the flywheel key...not sheared. I know I purchased the correct power pack. I am stumped.

I believe the wires from the power pack to the correct ignition coils are correct.
Orange/blue to #1. Orange/purple to #2. Orange/green to #3. I have tried swaping wires to see if that made a difference and no luck.

You are working on a three cylinder two-stroke so I can see timing being off 120 or 240 degrees but not 180. Spark plug wires on the correct plugs?

Good point regarding the timing degrees. I guess it is not exactly 180 degrees but the indicator mark for TDC of #1 cylinder is basically on the opposite side of the flywheel to the timing pointer. Yes, I have the spark plug wires on the correct plugs.
