    Question 4 horse Evinrude 1973 Pull Start Problem

    Took the motor into Evinrude dealer 2 years ago with a pull start problem. Would not rewind automatically. Was apparently fixed and let it sit for 2 years. Same problem. Took apart, fixed the coil spring, cleaned and greased it but will not rewind.

    Would appreciate some assistance.

    Do you have the flat washer in the center of the spring cup? Won't work without it.
