35hp wiring diagram

Have not been able to find a basic wiring diagram for my 1959 35hp Johnson Model RDSL-21B. I have put on a tiller handle and just need the basics. Battery cables, starter button, kill switich. There is a mercury switich ( I think?) located on the gear at the throttle. Can this be overridden? How do you check it? Does the wires going to the magneto need power? Have not been able to have much luck with a search. Sorry if this has been asked before.

So you want the basics only? Use this one. (It assumes you are going to use an OMC solenoid). If you are going to use a car solenoid, the whole game changes. You can defeat the mercury switch by grounding its wire. But you also defeat the purpose of it. There are two black wires coming from the magneto. Run them to a push button for a kill switch. DO NOT apply any power to the magneto wires!!!!!

Thanks, thats just what I needed. Will use the switch if I can be sure it works. Witch wire do I ground?

You mean as regards the mercury switch? The black wire going to it.
