2000 .......8 hp evinrude four stroke

question one. the dealer says that although i just purchased this motor in may of 02..dealer said it was new in the box.. while it is a 2000 it was still new.. anyway of verifying that?? it looks it but still don't belive him..question 2. it ran horrible ..he said there was dirt in the new gas line and that he back flushed it.ran better but is still loading up and one plug gets very black.. vibrates alot..sure don't run like a new motor.would a small amount of dirt on the needle cause the loading up and vibration??or is the vibration just the way evinrude's four strokes run..??? thanks

I have the same motor 2000 8hp four stroke. Although it starts well it seems to vibrate a lot more than my old 2 stroke suzuki. I also would like to resolve this problem.
