I just joined the site I am planning on changing my water pump, I have a few questions that I was wondering if some of the mechanics on this site might be able to answer? Here goes;
I have a 1999 Ficht 200hp, engine model E200FPLEEEN and have the following questions;
1. Other than the water pump kit itself, will I need a gasket on the lower housing gearcase? 2. What's the best way of taking off the shift rod assembly? Lastly, what other material do you recommend me purchasing, gasket sealing component, 3m adhesive, etc??
Again, thanks in advance for any help or direction you may have. Eddie
P.S. tried to find the nut to loosen the Shift Rod assembly but it isn't visable, maybe have to take of the exahust cover to get a better view???

Purchase from a dealer 3M type 847 also called Sealer 1000 & Triple Guard Grease.
Water pump kit is #5001595
Thanks for the input, just have one more question regarding your answer. You refer to the lower motor pan, is that the same as the lower mount cover that is held by 4 screws, just up above the lower greacase.? Lastly, replacement kit I bought is #5001594 with all the water pump part, as I plan to change all the components since I have not maintenanced it since I bought the boat in 1999. AGAIN, THANK YOU for your help, appreciate it. Eddie
