1999 Evinrude 5hp 4 stroke no spark

After replacing the steering bracket on my motor it has no spark. I have double checked all the connections and can only wonder if I harmed the kill switch when disassembling the tiller handle. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard mykissmania!What you can do is attach an ohm meter across the two wires from the kill switch and see if it'll make/break when pushed.Recheck your grounds also around the ignition system.EDIT: The safety key is in the kill switch I would assume?

OBJ,Thanks for the reply. As it turns out I must have been scatter brained yesterday, took the cdi box off and presto! The ground wire was hiding behind it. Wow I feel like a horses arse.
