I have a 20' welcraft with a 175 johnson/evinrude on the back. The resason i keep saying johnson/evinrude is it has a johnson hood but when i see the serial number it has a evinride serial number.

Regardless:

I got the motor running purring like a kitten got everything how i wanted it ran it with the muffs 6 out of 7 days. Launch it, take it out of the creek on a idle, start tapping the throttle get it up to 3/4 throttle runs for about 45 seconds and shuts down. The motor seemed to get real hot. Got the motor refired but then it started sneezing. Wouldnt run but maybe 10 seconds. Got towed back. Havent been able to get the motor fired up. Checked oil pump, motor was pumping water, was running fuel out of a 6 gallon cell didnt want to fill the 45 gallon tank until i knew all the bugs were worked out. Checked all the cylinders no metal shavings, installed new plugs, sprayed a crc marine in each cylinder turned it over by hand a few times the motor still wont start. It seems its dumping to much fuel. i dont know if maybe a float is stuck in one of the 6 carbs and causing it. cleaned the fuel strainer in the front of the motor. If anybody has anymore advice of what to check i would greatly appreciate it. Local dealer is 6 weeks backed up. I am resourceful but im at a scratching head point as what to do next.
