help please!! it appears that my fuel gauge quick working and i ran my tank dry, not realizing that i was out of fuel, i started my kicker and the smoke was unreal, come to fine out that my acumix system pumped oil to the motor and it ran on straight oil. the motor will only start if i direct inject fuel to the cylinders and start it will continue to run until i turn it off, i must repeat this each time i want it to start. thinking fuel filter and pump screen may be clogged, fact that it will run, makes me think that the carb is okay. pumping the ball does not seem to allow fuel to the carb. priming only way to start. any ideas on how to fix? thanks.

I would attempt to continue to use the motor hoping to let what is hopefully oil clear the carb.
If you squirt fuel mix directly into the carb intake it should start.Perhaps with some time the carb will clear.
Otherwise you'll need to remove the carb a clean it out.You might try activating the choke with it running.Might help clear the choke circuit.
Another thing you can do is remove the drain plug from the carb and just pump fresh gas through the system. That should eventually wash out the excess oil. I had a customer fill the fuel tank with oil on a chainsaw once and it didn't take a whole lot to get it worked through.

If you have the accumix tank get rid of it and get a new tank and mix your fuel 50:1. Those accumix tanks have been nothing but probs since they came out in 1986. OMC used to make a tank conversion to get rid of the accumix. The old # used to be 174803. I don't know if it's still available or not. Also do what Zephyr said above using 50:1 fuel. It will save taking off the carb.
