1997 Johnson 150 Fast Strike

Never heard this before. Sounds like a couple of pebbles in a tin can when motor is running at speed on right side of motor. Ran fine all day but on way home started making this noise. Anyone have an idea of what this could be?

Does this sound cause the engine to run bad("does it cause a loss of power") at full throttle. What affect does this sound have on the performance of the engine.I don't have a maunal or anything telling me about what type of engine this is so how many cylinders and is a 2 or 4 stroke?

doesnt sound good from here, you really need to address this sound with a mechanic, might, just might be a piston or ring/bearing coming apart, this is a ois engine right, compression should be shot on the engine to start, id stop running it till i found that noise, when those ois engines went they went, good luck, keep us infoed[/LIST]
