My motor is a 1997 90hp evinrude.I was out today and the boat ran fine for about 20 minutes. When I went to recrank the engine, NOTHING. It would not even turn over. I thought that the battery may be dead, but the depth finder was working. When I got home I took the cover off the motor and tried to crank it. Agaon, NOTHING. I noticed that the primer solenoid had a crack in the plastic and when i turned the key, fuel would spurt out of the crack. I know absolutely nothing about engines. Is this a expensive problem? Would the crack in the primer solenoid keep the engine from turning over?
