I think I have a problem with the nuetral switch. The starter button will only engage the starter if I remove the engine cover and push all the way down on the cam / lever that pushes in the little button on the bottom of the neutral switch. Am I on the right track? Is there a way to adjust the postioning of the neutral switch or the lever? Or do I need to replace the switch?
Performing this delicate starting procedure can be tricky when duck hunting in the dark, gloves on, etc.
Put the engine in neautral, throttle in start position, adjust switch to break contact when shifting to forward. Switch must make contact in neautral, or in other word's. complete the circuit to ground. That's what it is, a ground switch.
