I changed the plugs, and pulled them after running it awhile on the flush kit, seems the engine is only firing on one side. From the back of the engine, the 3 on the right where all clean, the 3 on the left looked very oily and still wet?? Any ideas, Thanks, Tim
Sounds like your shift interuptor switch, it kills one bank of cylinders to ease the torque load on the lower unit while dumping the engine into gear. When these switches fail ( and fail they do), your engine will only run on 3 cylinders.
There is a method to bypass the switch to find out if that is the problem, but I am not sure of the procedure other than just unplugging it.
I'm sure others with greater knowledge will chime in.
No I haven't, don't know where the switch is. I ordered a manual 2 days ago, so hopefully when it gets here I will have more of a clue about the whole thing. I am a pretty good mechanic on most things, but this big V6 is all new to me. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions, keep them coming. Thanks, Tim
