    Default 1995 Evinrude 40hp lower unit trouble

    Attempting to take apart lower unit on 1995 Evinrude 40hp
    something won't let it release. It appears to be the shift rod.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

    you have to disconnect shift rod under the bottom carb.
