    Default 1993 Johnson tracker 60hp

We have a pontoon with a 60hp johnson. While riding up the lake it just stopped pulling like it slipped out of gear! It will will go in forward and reverse and push the boat but when you throttle up it stops pulling like its slipping! What could it be?

Sounds like worn out prop hub!

Put the engine in gear with engine off, and see if you can turn prop by hand. Mite have to use some muscle. If it does spin without turning engine over then yes. Not uncommon!

Thanks, i am hoping it is the prop instead of lower unit, it is just confusing when it will push on the trailer and go steady until you throttle up!

If it acts like it kind of goes in to neutral when throttling up, then yes as long as there's nothing else weird going on!

If it is a prop hub, you can usually have them rehubed cheaper than buying a new one.
