1993 Johnson 120 water pump.
I have a 1993 Johnson 120 trying to replace the water pump impeller. I can only get the lower unit to drop about 1/2". Is there something that is holding the shaft that needs to be removed?

Have you disconnected the shift rod under the bottom carb?

You can go to the johnson site and look at a parts breakdown.
