I have a 1992 Johnson 90 VRO that has just been broken in for 20 hrs, double oil and kept below 4,000 rpm's. After the breakin period, everytime I bring the motor over 4600 rpm's the heat alarm sounds. Water is strong out of the "Pee" hole, but it doesn't heat up on this model. I bring the motor back to idle for about 1 minute and the alarm resets.I have taken the cover off of the motor in the past as the alarm was sounding and can touch it with my hand. It doesn't appear to be overly hot, although I don't have temperature gauge to verify that.
Any Ideas?
