    Default 1990 Johnson 60HP Primer/solenoid

I have just discovered that I have been running my engine perhaps with the primer/solenoid red lever in "manual" position. The motor has been flooding (geee, I wonder why!) - but my question is whether by running the engine and pumping the ball on a number of occasions in the past would have damaged the valve/solenoid? Any recommended tests I could perform to find out? thanks for the response(s)! JBLAIZ
