Will not start without a shot of starting fluid. once it starts you can drive it for hours. if you stop it will crank up if you imeadiatly crank it, but if you wait 5 minutes it takes a shot of fluid. Rebuilt carbs no help. Any clues?

Reason: incomplete title
There should be an "anti-syphon" check valve somewhere, maybe at the primer bulb if it is a removeable tank. To check a piece of clear line after the bulb should show you if it is draining back. You could also elevate the tank above the carbs to test, just temparary.
