I have a good running 70hp Johnson. Last trip outlast fall I noticed a tickink noise at low speed coming from the drive shaft area. we used the kicker to get back to the dock.

When I got home i removed the gear case, took off the waterpump housing and bearing housing to find that the thrust bearing and shims damaged.

1. should i dissasemble everything to inspect?
2. How do i get the driveshaft out?
