Engine model E5ELC1G, Serial #0001074 won't always shift into forward, w/ or w/out shifting cable. Shift lever on engine won't move out of neutral position although it can be "forced" forward a little bit against gradually increasing resistance. Recently repaired lower unit ($772.00 in parts), including dog/clutch. It does shift sometimes and has shifted well in past. When forward shift does not work, I tip the motor up out of the water, spin the propeller backwards and forwards until I can shift into forward. Shifting seems fully functional then for a while. Then the problem returns after maybe two or three shifts. Before repair mentioned above would stick in forward or wouldn't shift to either forward or reverse.
