1979 Evinrude 55 horspower wiring diag?

I was wondering if anyone had a wiring diagram for a 55975c engine. I've been looking to add a tach and need to know which wire to come off of. Also I was wondering does this engine somehow charge the battery if so how. I've been stumped becasue you have the two wires that connect to the battery, the red and black. Are there many wires goign through that to charge and so forth. Also I was wondering when I turn the key to the off position it doesn't stop the engine, where is the kill swich located.

For the tach you'll use the purple wire (12 volts w/key on), a black for ground and the grey wire. Blue if you want the light to work.

Yes it charges the battery. The "kill" wire is the black with a yellow tracer.

The wire is black with a yellow stripe.

Thanks for the info. Since I know which wire it is now, when I need to stop the engine, it doesn't seem like the key in the off position stops it. Is there some else I should be doing to stop it? I figured If I traced that wire it would lead me to where its spposed to stop.
