1979 Evinrude 115HP No spark on 1 cylinder

Hi,
I have a 1979 115HP Evinrude V4. It has 1 cylinder with no spark, rotated all coils and both power packs and the problem stays with the same cyliner swaped plugs around aswell.. The motor has been running perfect all summer and this problem just occured out of nowhere last time I took it out. Any tips or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated. sounds like the cable is grounding out some place, check your spark wire

clean all the grounds. inspect the wiring. i assume you swapped power packs, and coils on that cylinder. check compression.

Checked all wires coming out of power pack back to the stator, pulled flywheel off the stator has some nice size cracks and some burn marks.. I did manage to get some spark off the said cylinder earlier today and thought i had the problem solved but it lost spark again. thats when i decided to pull the flywheel. Stator bad ? charge coils are built in i guess ? not to familiar with this engine but I do have a service manual. all the wire appears to be in good condition and i couldnt find any that have grounded out with my ohm meter. I dont wanna spend the money on a new stator if i dont have to..

Any tips would be appreciated

"nice size cracks and some burn marks" REPLACE IT. watch ebay, i picked up a stator and timing plate the other day, for almost nothing.

Ok so finally replaced the stator and i still have the same problem.. No spark on the starboard top cylinder. At first when i replaced the stator i had spark for a few minutes then it went out again. Is the rectifier a possible cause ? or is the next thing in line the trigger/timer base ?
