i have a 1977 checkmat 19ft with a 1977 200hp johnson took it out on lake for first time it had a constant alarm going off as soon as i started it and would barely run i got it to idle and would run just above idle but if u tried to throttle it to plain out it would just slow down then dies and is hard to start after that any help would be appriated worked on cars for along time but this is my first boat boat was setting for along time before i got it thanks
There is only one alarm on that engine and that is for overheating. You should not run the engine again until you service the waterpump, thermostats and water passage deflectors, in that order.
How are you supplying the cooling water? Are you mixing the fuel 50:1 with TC-W3 oil?
im not tryin to waste anyones time i was askin about a fuel problem not overheating just didnt know what the buzzer going off ment but think i found my problem not even sure if my motor is a actual 77 it has oil injection not sure if they had that in 77
