Default 1976 Johnson Seahorse- 35HP- Leaking Fuel/Oil Everywhere

New member- hoping for some help.....

    I have a Johnson model # "35E76S".

Been running for about a year, and within the year have had a lot of work done to it, rebuilt carb, spark plugs, water pump, lower unit serviced, etc...

This past weekend I noticed a large amount of fuel/oil mixture in the water- leaking from the engine...motor was smoking more than usual. Fuel/Oil is leaking from the 2 fuel lines that are connected to the fuel filter. Lines are brand new, no cracking, but when I squeeze the gas primer bulb with the engine off, the fuel is literally bubbling/leaking out of the points where the lines meet the fuel filter. I initially noticed the issue when I increased the throttle on the water and the motor started to "putt, putt, putt" and then died....started right back up, but kept leaking more and more fuel, and smoking heavily. Any ideas whats causing this?

I am a beginner, and the idea of a gas leak seems to be rather dangerous, so any help is appreciated- BW67

Welcome to iboats! You might want to put clamps or good zip ties on the lines.

I did tighten the fuel filter after removing to be sure there was nothing clogging it....looked like brand new, hoses, filter, etc.....

I started the motor up this afternoon after posting to see if the gas/oil are coming out of the hoses while running, both in idle and engaged....none comes out of that location while running.

I ran the motor for about 10 minutes, I inspected all of the hoses, looked for leaks, oil, anything that would give me an indication of where its leaking from.... I saw no leaks from any of the hoses. I am now noticing some water in the top portion of the motor pan, and black oil dripping out from underneath the motor near the top, where the bolts from the lower unit connect to the top. Also, there are two holes in the back of the lower unit that look to be part of the exhaust, that were smoking after shutting off the motor......for a good ten minutes that went on for.

Confusing I know, I am even more confused I am sure....if anything comes to mind, I am open to suggestions.

I know I just added a lot more, but these are the latest things that happened this afternoon.....
