1975 Johnson GT 150 Tilt/Trim Motor

I am new to the whole boat ownership thing, so forgive me in advance if I sound like a dummy.

I have a 1975 (I think... Model # is J150GTLCUR and Serial is R7566221) Johnson GT 150 HP outboard motor. The other day, we were out on lake, and the motor raised all the way up, and wouldn't go back down. The "tilt/trim" motor would come on every so often on its own and just run.

I took it off, and found the magnets (bushings I think are what they are called) broke up. Does anyone know where I can find a new motor?

It can be rebuilt for much less, call your local dealer and ask them to reccomend a repair shop in your area. If it is in fact water logged and unrepairable, you will need to replace it.
