1975 Evinrude 6hp fuel pump kit

I've got a '75 6hp Evinrude. It is a good running little motor, but I'm having to keep the primer pumped on the tank to keep it running. I feel like the fuel pump is probably dried out, as it has sat inside for about 10 years. I've found fuel pump rebuild kits, but they list for an 85-up motor (Sierra 18-7823). Does anybody know if this kit would work on the older engine or do you know of anybody that sells a kit for the older engine? Any help would be appreciated, as i'm hoping to be on the water in the next week or so. Thanks.

Thanks, but i'm trying not to spend so much. Plus i can get the Sierra part at my local Carquest. I was just wondering if anybody had successfully used the rebuild kit on an older engine.
